I walked over 500 miles, in my own shoes, hiking boots, out of France, over what seemed like the tallest of the Pyrenee Mountains, into Spain and across the entire Northern region of the country to a small town with a very large cathedral called Santiago de Compostela. It was a long walk along a route called the Camino Frances, one route of the Camino de Santiago - a pilgrimage that is done by all sorts of folks regardless of religion, nationality, or ethnicity every year from Spring into Summer and on into Fall. And all 40 days of my trip in April and May of 2004 is helping me to write the articles that are contained here on this site.

There are complaints that we have in life.

Complaints about how life goes and complaints about other people.
Giving voice to what is "bad" about our lives gives rise to more of the same.

We have given rise to a persistent complaint called "It sucks."

It is one complaint that is used over and over again by young and old, black and white, gay, and straight alike. It takes away our power as human beings.

It sucks the air we breathe.

The power that is our birthright and the gift that life is now and forever is diminished every time we complain.

Giving thought to the words that come out of our mouths gives rise to the care and attention we pay to ourselves and the quality of our lives. It even gives rise to the care and attention that others pay to us.

When you're able to see yourself as creator in your life, you gain the freedom that is your birthright.

Yes, your birthright.

You can have freedom in your soul.

Not a freedom you have because you live in a free country. Not a freedom you experience like having a car that will drive you anywhere you want to go or voting for who will lead your country next. Not a freedom that is conceptual, but a freedom that is real and alive and can be experienced as a way of being.

Freedom has many levels to it. The greatest of which is when you feel free to create your life however you want it to be.

This is your birthright.

To everything, turn, turn, turn...

There is a season, turn, turn, turn.
And a time to everything under heaven.

So what's your season?

What's going on in your life right now?
At this moment? In this week?
This month? This year? This lifetime?

Whatever it is, it certainly wasn't going
on last month, last year, last lifetime...

So know that whatever it is, "this too shall pass."

Whatever it is.

Your choice on how to respond to life. Choose powerfully.

Peace on Earth begins with good will toward all men and women. That means you too. Yes, good will toward yourself.

Free will is what we have, it's both what we have been given - the gift of our existence - and, it's what we give to others - what we make of ourselves out in this world.

The Game: What's one benevolent thing you know to do but you continually don't do for yourself or others? Make a list of these things.

What's important in this game? Set-up.

What's your soundtrack? You heard me. Your soundtrack.

You're in a 12-step program... or you're in your fifth grade class sitting in the elementary school auditorium...

Or you're in therapy... or you're in shop class in high school...

Wherever you are, someone is telling you that you have a toolbox full of tools. They're right.

They tell you that in this toolbox there are all sorts of things that will help you build structures, while other people are tearing down theirs. They tell you that your tools in your toolbox can even help you repair what you've broken.

Sometimes we call it nervousness. Sometimes we call it anxiety. We've called it anger and sadness too. Sometimes we call ourselves stupid to be it, or crazy to let "it" get in the way.

Guess what "it" is?

That's right. Fear.

I thought this was a remarkable idea.

In Color Theory class back in college, I learned that pigments are different from light. It's not only that pigments are for painting and light's for... well, light's for lighting up a room, but it is also that you can create colors differently in pigments than you can with light.

Let's begin from the beginning... red, yellow and blue are primary colors. This simply means that every other color comes from some mixture of these three colors. Green being yellow & blue, purple being red & blue, orange being red & yellow, and these are secondary colors. Then you go on mixing, and you can create every color imaginable to mankind.

But it begins first with 3 colors.

Some things have been happening to me.

All Good.
All the time, it's good.
I look upon all events that happen to me as an opportunity. Whether someone else observing my life would say that the event was bad or that the event was good, is, well, up to someone else.

I say it's all good, all the time.

However, this does not preclude it from being challenging. Even confronting. But always, ever-expanding.

And often, my knee-jerk reaction is to be angry or frustrated or annoyed or impatient. And then, as soon as I recognize that that's my position, I begin to see there's an opportunity for growth... for me, as an individual. And I begin to see it as an opportunity for everyone around me, for as I grow so do they.

So life is a wonderful place. I want to share with you mine for a moment.

I want to share what's happened in my life in the past year. So sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

A tale of a woman who knew about the Law of Attraction and used it in her life, to her benefit. That woman is me. And that Law of Attraction is the Universe.

It came to me recently. In a thought, in words in a book, in something that someone said.

When it comes to me, I listen. Because it's me speaking to myself through others.
I listen to every word.
Especially the ones I don't like to hear.

I listen to them most closely.

However when this came to me, it didn't hurt my ears. It resonated immediately. With my heart.

"Forget yourself."

I also heard, "Forgive yourself."

Forgive myself for all the things that I hold myself hostage over. The things I make myself wrong for. You know those things. You do it too.

I heard, forget yourself and forgive yourself. So that's what I'm doing.
Right now.
